ZOA Cambodia achieved the following concrete results in 2008:

- 500 farmers were trained in agricultural techniques
- 10 partner organisations received assistance
- projects to reduce the risk of disasters were conducted in 51 villages
- 2 local NGOs received support
- 2 farmers’ cooperatives were formed and received aid.
Objectives for 2008
- ZOA Cambodia aims to continue strengthening local organisations in implementing small-scale projects.
- ZOA Cambodia will continue implementing integrated projects in the two eastern districts, intended to make communities less vulnerable, implemented by local organisations if possible.
- ZOA Cambodia will improve access to and the standard of primary schools.
- ZOA Cambodia will support the target group in improve returns from agriculture and livestock breeding.
- ZOA Cambodia hopes to achieve gender equality in all organisations it has established and / or supports.
- ZOA Cambodia will help reduce the number of conflicts throughout the country.
Objectives achieved
- Local organisations have become increasingly independent in recent years. The organisations and groups have benefitted greatly from the training and coaching sessions provided by ZOA.
- Local partner organisations in the two eastern districts are growing more involved in carrying out integrated projects.
- ZOA Cambodia has not conducted educational projects, as funding was unavailable for this purpose.
- ZOA helps farmers grow crops and raise livestock efficiently. These projects have been successful.
- Women account for nearly 50% of the members of local organisations.
- Plans for land use have been approved, and conflicts over land have diminished considerably.
Objectives for 2009
- ZOA Cambodia aims to strengthen the civil society and local authorities to enable them to fight poverty in Oddar Meanchey.
- ZOA Cambodia will continue to support the target group by trying to increase agricultural output and by reducing exposure to disasters.
- ZOA Cambodia will continue setting up local partner organisations; ZOA will seek strong organisations to entrust operations to them.
