Vice Versa: special on Peace Nexus

Peacebuilding in Burundi and DR Congo

Two of ZOA’s peacebuilding programmes are featured in Vice Versa’s special on Peace Nexus. Read all about land tenure registration projects in Burundi, and community-based sociotherapy in DR Congo.

In late 2013, ZOA initiated land tenure registration projects in Makamba Province, Burundi, in collaboration with the local partner MIPAREC. These projects are implemented in coordination with the government to minimise conflicts and motivate farmers to invest in and make the most of their land.

In South Kivu, the Democratic Republic of Congo, communities are committed to achieving peace through inner healing. To this end, Paix et Développement Durable (PDD), a community development organisation, is using community-based sociotherapy (CBS) with ZOA’s support.
